DO IT TOGETHER WEEK™
& MIDSUMMER PARTY
Monday 6th July - Monday 13th July
@ La Vergne Balette
We're opening up the doors - and fields - of La Vergne Balette for a week of communal
living, making, and relaxing. A DIY summer camp for friends. A place to gather, get outside, and build a
good week
together.
We’re running this as a group effort. We’ll all be chipping in to run the camp, sharing the daily
rhythms of
cooking, tidying, and keeping things ticking. Beyond, how much you join in is totally up to
you.
We'll be:
Getting our hands dirty:
Tending to our saplings and doing some work on the house.
Making:
Providing time and space for your own creative projects and ideas.
Relaxing:
Balancing out the activities with sunbathing, lots of wild swimming, and big shared
dinners.
Celebrating:
Getting together for evenings under the stars, and a daytime party on
Saturday 11th July.
Children, partners, and friends-of-friends are very welcome. We can accommodate a maximum of ~30 people
over
the week and ~50 at the weekend, including project members and families. Places will be
'first come first served', confirmed by incoming donations (see MONEY).

Feel free to join the WhatsApp Group anytime

FURTHER INFO
SLEEPING
We have a few sleeping arrangements including a dorm style attic room for sleepover vibes, some farmyard
outhouses, camping spots around the land, and a limited few bedrooms.
MATTRESSES
We currently don't have enough mattresses to go round. The project members can split the cost 50/50 to
buy new ones; we’re asking you to contribute £30 for a single and £50 for a king size. This will help us
build our hosting capacity, and you'll always have first dibs on your mattress for future stays : )
Opt in for a mattress via the Guest
Form ASAP, so we can arrange timely delivery, otherwise bring your mattress of
choice.
BEDDING
All guests will need to bring their own bedding; pillows/sleeping bags/duvet/sheets ...
FACILITIES
- An indoor heated shower, plus we'll be building an outdoor shower.
- An indoor toilet and a compost loo.
- 3x fridges, gas hobs, oven, a washing machine and dishwasher.
- Fast internet and a large projector screen.
- The houses and other buildings are old and rustic, expect ‘indoor camping’.
PARTY
We will celebrate the week with a day party on Saturday 11th July.
If you want to perform or play music or something let us know : )
TRAVEL
People have traveled by car, plane, train and bike. If coming by plane or train you'll still need a hire
car
or lift-share arrangement for the final leg as we won’t have capacity for pick-ups. Having a car is
advisable anyway, for getting to swim spots etc. That said, there should be some spare seats for those
cycling.
Use the WhatsApp Group to
organise lift share and car hire with others.
See our Travel Notes.
FOOD
We will shop and cook communally. We're requesting people transfer £13/day for food in advance.
Drinks will be BYO. There is a supermarket 15m drive away.
MONEY
We’re asking for a donation of £35 (£17.50 for kids age 5+) irrespective of how long you're coming for.
This
will go towards the transportation of hosting infrastructure and utilities. If this amount is
inaccessible,
let us know via the form.
Total costs = £35 donation + £13 food p/d + optional mattress (+ your drinks and your travel)
